More milestones!

I've seriously had no time to catch up on posting, so I'm cramming it all in a few posts while my kids are occupied.

First milestone: FOOD!

I'm not really an advocate of feeding cereal to babies. Basically, there's no real nutritional value, so there's really no point. I think it's overused to try to get babies to sleep better when they really just need to feed as often as they want or need to for comfort and health. Okay, I'm getting off my soapbox now.

However, I decided to make a little bit of rice cereal mixed with breastmilk for Anna, mostly to see if she was ready to eat baby food. If she was still tongue-thrusting, then I didn't want to waste my time. She really enjoyed it, and did a great job eating! Now I know she's ready for solids.

"Mom, what in the world is this goop you're shoving in my mouth?"

I think she enjoyed herself.

Second milestone: rolling both directions.

Anna perfected the back-to-tummy roll a while ago, but she could never quite understand that she could move onto her back again whenever she wanted. Well, she finally got it! This has kept her from getting angry quite often, as she doesn't always like being trapped on her tummy for long periods of time. It has also enabled her to disappear from her mother's view.

I managed to catch her rolling from tummy to back by complete accident. Yes, I know the video is sideways. I don't wanna go there, but I promise you'll get over it.

See the laundry basket in the background?
Yeah, that's what I was supposed to be doing instead of taking video of my child.
Priorities, people.

Third milestone: feet!

Anna discovered her toes. Then she discovered that they can go in her mouth.

Fourth milestone: vocabulary!

With every child, Nathan and I have an unspoken contest. Will this baby say "Ma-ma" or "Da-da" first? I know the video clip does not mean that I have won the argument, but it's an indicator that I have a pretty good chance! Mwahahahaha!!

Again, the video is sideways. Shut up. Try getting anything done with four kids under five, and then we'll talk, m'kay?

Good girl, Anna!

So, what's next? Well, look what we're working on:

Go, baby, go!
