Rainy Day Fun

This weather sucks. The kids get stir-crazy because we can't venture out, so I have to try to come up with lots of things to keep them busy or someone might get hurt (Nicky). Today, we decided to have some Play-Doh fun. My kids love the stuff. I never think to buy it when we're at the store, so we didn't have any until recently. I love my Aunt Lisa and her random gifts!

Woohoo! Lots of fun in this box!

All three goobers (and Mommy) had a blast making all kinds of multicolored things while we watched the rain pouring down outside. Good times.

Nicky's bird.

I love the grin.

Zoe had fun taking the dough out of the can, putting it right back in, and smashing it down with her fingers.

I think he was figuring out how to make a snake.

Like this one.

At least she didn't eat it!

I learned something about Play-Doh today. If you have a child with a gluten allergy, you shouldn't let them play with it. Check it out...

Weird, huh? Something I never knew.

So, we have a new rainy day activity that everyone loves. I think we might attempt some artsy-craftsy stuff next week, if Mommy feels bold enough.

  1. That first picture of Ethan with the grin is adorable. He really looks a lot like his daddy there. Of course the red hair kinda throws it off, but it's there. Glad you had fun with the play-doh - just keep it away from the carpet, as it's impossible to remove once it gets ground in. We weren't able to hide indoors today. I had to drag the kids to the doctor in the rain. Tomorrow we have to go back to the doctor for TB tests first thing, then bible study, and then in the afternoon we have haircuts with Rhonda. Busy day. Hope to see you at bible study.

  2. Have you ever made your own playdoh? You and your children should come for a playdate at my house and we could do JUST THAT! :)

  3. Abigail, my mom has a recipe for homemade Play-Doh that we've used several times. I like the way it smells! It would be so much fun to get all the kids together to do something like that! We'll have to talk about when we could do it.
